This is why it is necessary to be defensive in an OP. OP just seems really certain (in this and other threads) that he isn't using mods, I figured it was worth taking his word on. Oh yeah, I wasn't disputing that it's a valid potential option to explore - it is. It is still a valid observation of why something like that would happen. It never hurts to mention mods, even if the OP will be hostile towards it and scream 'I said no mods'. How many times have you seen where the OP says 'no mods' and they have or had mods at some time in the past that were not removed properly or still affect the save game negatively? Honestly, aside from just a pure glitch, that's the only reason I can think of. That's different than the weapon falling from enemy hands after death and getting knocked away. If the weapon was fully knocked out of his hands before death and he didn't execute the package to pick it back up, it may not appear on his inventory. The only thing I can think of is that he was fully disarmed somehow.
